NCLEX ATT for International Nurses (2026)

How international nurses should get and use the NCLEX Authorization to Test: nursing regulatory body eligibility, Pearson registration, ATT validity, scheduling, passport ID, and international test centers.

The NCLEX ATT for International Nurses is the bridge between state-board eligibility and an actual exam appointment. The official NCLEX process requires the nursing regulatory body to make you eligible and Pearson registration to be complete before the Authorization to Test email arrives. Do not treat a paid Pearson account, transcript submission, or recruiter message as proof that you can schedule.

NCLEX ATT sequence

  1. Apply to the nursing regulatory body or state board where you want NCLEX eligibility, and submit the education, identity, license, and accommodation items that board requests.
  2. Register with Pearson for the NCLEX using the same name and email strategy you can defend against your passport and board records.
  3. Wait for the Authorization to Test email after the board declares you eligible and Pearson registration is complete.
  4. Use the ATT to schedule with Pearson at a domestic or international test center before the ATT validity window expires.

ATT validity and scheduling risk

NCLEX says each ATT is valid for a period specified by the nursing regulatory body, with an average length of 90 days. International nurses should schedule quickly after the ATT arrives because waiting until the end of the window can leave too few dates. If the ATT expires or the appointment is missed without proper rescheduling, a candidate may need to register and pay again.

International test center and passport checks

NCLEX testing is offered at domestic and international test centers. For international test centers, candidates seeking U.S. licensure usually need a valid physical passport book or card, and name matching matters. If your passport, school records, board application, and Pearson registration do not match, fix that before the test date instead of hoping the test center will accept an explanation.
